Tikujiwadi is also known as second door
of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) (Borivali) and also it is another
entry point for Yeoor, which is also a part of SGNP.
TIkujiniwadi is located at Ghodbandar
Road at Thane. It is famous birding spot amongst various birders around Mumbai
because of its great diversity and beauty. Apart from birds it also consists of
one small butterfly garden inside the park… so it’s also part of attraction for
butterfly lovers..... I wanted to visit
Tikujiwadi since a long time as i am a birder and finally we made a plan to go
on 3rd December, 2015.
On the same morning we means my so
called birding buddies RP (Rajesh Poojare) and DP (Darshan Potdar) reached at
7.00 am at the park and started our birding with hunger of so many number of
birds.. And as soon as we enter inside the park Asian Paradise Flycatcher (M)
gave us warm welcome wearing his black and white coat with long beautiful
tail….There were many people had come for morning walk in the park …and they
were wondering that why we were starring at trees…. Haha… After that we got to
see one individual of Sulphur-bellied Warbler into the canopy… without wasting
time we started walking ahead …and further we heard a took …took… call of
Copporsmith Barbet and seen it over one bark of tree…. We ended our trail at
11.00 am… and we could sight about 50 species of birds during our trail and
many butterflies…
